Ethical Policy

AEI expects its Trustees, employees and professional staff to always act in furtherance of our organizational mission and to exercise the highest levels of integrity, ethics and objectivity in actions and relationships that may affect the Institute, including representing the Institute externally or negotiating on its behalf.

Our continued success is dependent on our trainees, clients, suppliers, donors, volunteers and staff knowing that they can count on us to be honest, fair and good stewards of the assets of the Institute. All our relationships must be based on integrity and trust. We must not misuse the authority or the influence of our positions in these relationships. If there is ever a doubt as to whether an action is appropriate or whether it will cause embarrassment to AEI or its reputation, it should be avoided.

This standard of ethical behavior will be regularly communicated to all Trustees, officers, employees and professional staff, each of whom, in turn, is responsible for communicating this policy to anyone who has, or may have, a transactional relationship with the Institute. These standards will be publicly available on our website for those who have an interest in AEI and its activities.
